The foot is formed of three distinct arches which create an architectural vault. When any of the arches drop this creates a foot imbalance, which can have a negative impact on the feet, knees, hips, pelvis, and spine.
Wearing custom orthotics is similar to leveling up an uneven dining table by placing a piece of cardboard under the leg; it allows the whole table to become balanced. This balance in the musculoskeletal system is much like a marionette. As tension is balanced in the strings, the muscles, tendons and ligaments in the body have ”normal” tension on them providing consistent feedback to the brain about joint position and, the sixth sense, proprioception.
The flexible orthotics we prescribe are comfortable and allow increased stability through the whole phase of walking and not just standing on your feet like rigid orthotics do.
We are able to provide a number of orthopaedic devices required either when you have an acute injury; such as a back support or after surgery or significant injury. These devices are professionally prescribed and fit as we are a Full member of the Australian Orthotic and Prosthetic Association. This also includes Medical Grade Footwear for DVA veterans.
